It should be emphasized that installing cameras in elevators is regulated by relevant laws and regulations, and cannot be installed arbitrarily.

Elevators are public spaces. If you want to install monitoring cameras, you need to comply with the following requirements:

1. Subject qualification: Generally, it is undertaken by the property management company of the building, the owner's committee, etc. Individual owners usually do not have the right to install monitoring equipment in public elevator space by themselves.
2. Inform and obtain consent: It is necessary to fully inform all owners and passengers that there is video monitoring in the elevator. The monitoring scope can only cover the public area of the elevator car, and it is strictly forbidden to collect, capture and involve others' private information illegally.
3. File and compliance: In many regions, public area monitoring needs to be filed with the public security organ; the video storage time, access authority shall meet the regulatory requirements, and the video data shall not be leaked or used for other purposes.
4. Construction safety: Elevator is special pressure equipment. Camera wiring, fixing and power taking must be constructed by professional personnel with relevant qualifications. Random wiring may affect the safe operation of the elevator, cause failure or safety accidents, and violate elevator safety management regulations.

Important reminder

• It is illegal for individuals to privately install cameras in elevators without permission. If the installation invades the privacy of others, you may bear civil liability such as stopping the infringement and compensating for losses, and even administrative or criminal liability.
• If you think it is necessary to add elevator monitoring for safety reasons, you can reflect the demand to the property company or the owner committee, and they will handle the follow-up compliance procedures and professional installation work.
